Mission Trails: minus the rain

This trip we hiked with out the rain... and with the sun... lots and lots of sun.

This picture may look like PJ was photoshopped in but I swear she isn't.

PJ the tree climber?

She climbed the rock, then sat on the rock, so...
PJ the rock climber?

Sure, it's all fun and games until she starts spraying water down on you, so I guess we got a little rain.

Messes to Ashes

Audrey seems to have made a fort, but isn't par-taking in it...

OH! There's Audrey... and the rest of the mess from the fort making. Good thing Audrey did the pick up.

From ashes we came to ashes we return.

The Cool Uncle...

Robert's brother, Chris, came for an unexpected quick little visit. PJ was still sleeping when Chris got to the house. As soon as I put her down on her feet in the same room as Chris, she took her blanket from me, walked over to Chris and raised her arms asking to be picked up. She sat in his lap, unmoving for 30 minutes. Just like this...

Who's reading to whom?

Audrey loves to read to PJ.

PJ loves to read to Audrey.

They love to read together.

Now that's a story that I can read everday of the week.

Mission Trails: mission beat the rain

Robert and I decided to start 'No-soccer game Saturday family hikes'. Sounds like a great idea right? I agree, it's a wonderful idea. This was our first attempt. We had a forth little girl with us. Our neighbor's left their daughter about Audrey's age in our care for the weekend, so she came along for the ride. At first it was great; kinda overcast, not to hot. Infact it was kinda cold. Everyone had on jackets, rain jackets. Well everyone but Robert and I, we were vests. We should have practiced what we preached. Half way thru, I started to tell Robert we should turn back, because the rain clouds were going to drop. We pressed on. And on, and on and on. Until Robert decided that actual water was coming out of the clouds... by the time we got back to the car...it was hailing.

PJ and Daddy just starting out the hike.

This looked different on the way back... with all the rain.

A little critters nest... and some special setting on my camera.

Interesting...

I never spoke to the kids about how I suddenly find myself looking to the window at about 4:30 or when ever a motorcycle goes by the house. Yesterday, Audrey came to me about 4:45, just after a motorcycle passed the house. She told me she keeps looking out the window when a bike rides by, just incase it might be Daddy. How interesting.
