PJ - the Great Conquerer!

PJ has discovered a new favorite past time. First she climbs up on things...

then she stands on top of them and does a little dance, by bouncing up and down and clapping!!!

A funny tale

Just something funny, I wanted to share.

This morning, Audrey was putting on her sunscreen before leaving for school. She only had a few minutes left and it didn't look like she had brushed her hair yet. So, I nudged her a bit, and asked her if she had brushed her hair. Her affirmative response, shocked me as it sure didn't look like it, so I let her know. With out skipping a beat, with out hesitation, she said "It's called a messy hair cut"! This is indeed what it is called, and exactly the way I described her new 'do after she got it cut on Saturday. What a great sense of humor and wit Audrey is showing. A tiny bit smartypants, but with grace. Good job Audrey!

Happy Happy Birthday little PJ!

Paytin Joee's first birthday is now in the history books. We had a busy day to say the least. First was church and CCD. PJ then took a 30 minute nap, and then we had to go to Jazmin and Audrey's soccer tryouts. While they were kicking and running, doing their best, PJ and I were wandering around the grass.

Then at home we met up with Daddy, and had a little party.

I could have just given her the wrapping paper

PJ was so interesting in the ceiling!

I guess I would wonder what that was up there too!

Then we started with presents.

With a bit of help, so started to get the idea.

She was a tiny bit confused with what a cupcake's purpose is. She waited for me to take a bit before even touching it. Then the icing got stuck on her fingers!

Then she took a tiny bit

And all was lost, bring on the cupcake!

All in all a good first birthday. Sure there were things that we would have liked to change, perhaps a longer nap. For after the cupcake, she was so tired, and overwhelmed, she went straight to sleep for 3 hours. Then after waking and having some milk, put her jammies on, went to bed for the night, and not a peep until the morning.
Happy Birthday PJ.

It wasn't the first time we sang Happy Birthday to her, Robert and I sang it to her last year in the hospital.

Tea Time or Haircut time? BOTH!

I get (when) my hair done at this marvelous place in Encinitas, Lemongrass. Come on! Just the name of the place lets you know what a wonderful 'salon/retreat' it is. Since moving to San Diego, and our beloved Erica moved, I have had a hard time getting my own hair done, let alone the girls. Everytime I take the girls to get their haircut, the stylist, does not listen to me or them, and neither one of them have enjoyed their haircuts 100%. So this time, I took them to Lemongrass.

Before: sitting in the gorgeous garden of Lemongrass sipping some tea.

PJ started to do her own exploring while we were waiting.

Where can I get a rock like this? Sprinkled around Lemongrass, along with Harmony, is: Tranquility, Peace, Love & Happiness. (Funny, just like the plaques that are on the wall in my living room)

After PJ figured out how to climb into this well, she started to try it on other things around the garden; thus getting very very VERY, dirty. So I put the camera away. This also made me forget to get an 'after' picture of the wonderful haircuts! With which everyone is 100% happy!

During the after glo or pictures of PJ during the volleyball party

After the awards ceremony, the volleyball teams had a small party together. Jazmin and Audrey were off doing their thing with friends, so PJ and I were left to our own play.

This looks like she is about to fall backwards, but she is really picking up her feet and legs, developing those ab muscles, and learning to sit in a V presenting herself to the sun.

she's trying to run. Right after this she falls down. Her run does not last very long.

Game, Set, Match

Well, volleyball has come to and end. Jazmin was super excited that the team won their last game. She had some awesome serves this last game. What a way to end the season. All in all, volleyball was a great experience, and a wonderful way to pass the time!

Karma

Sadly there are no pictures to go along with this post.

I had a busy afternoon let me start by telling you how it went:
drive Audrey to girl scouts
(stay and help)
drive back to the house
pick up Jazmin to go to volleyball
pick up Jazmin's friend as it is our week for carpool
drive to volleyball & drop off
drive to music store
rent flute
pick up a few things at Babies 'R us & Smart & Final next door to music store
drive back to pick up from volleyball just in time

It went basically that way! At the start of what could have been a crazy stressful afternoon it was just Audre, PJ and I in the car on the way to girl scouts. We are just chit chatting about Audrey's day. Nothing of any great importance. The song I kissed a Girl, by Katy Perry comes on, and Audrey says "like my friend's secret". I asked her what she meant and she responded that her friend told her a secret and her friend didn't even tell her first BFF, but this friend told Audrey, and how Audrey could not tell anyone about it. Since a semi-controversial (but fun song to dance to) prompted this, I asked her if she thought she needed to tell me or if I should worry at all. She said no because her friends mom knew about the secret. Insert Mom sigh of relief. Audrey then says, "Besides, I pinky swore I wouldn't tell anyone, and I can't because that would mean bad Karma if I broke a pinky promise"! Insert the tickerday parade here! On the verge of turning 9 she is speaking of karma! I have done something right! I feel such a great sense of accomplishment. Needless to say we chatted about how Karma will always find you, to punish or reward. That no one is free from Karma. She gets Karma. She truly does.
